Wow, another great night of music. Hanks Chapel UCC choir were the guest singers and they brought us some very moving music. Their music director, David Smith, who was supposed to sing on Monday night, was feeling better and was with us tonight.
Ray shared that the United Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ share spiritual forefathers in John and Charles Wesley.
The choir shared, as David described it, “some old standards with new twists”.
After they sang, Ray shared that the purple candle was being lit because of all the teaching that Jesus did between the time of clearing the temple until the Passover meal.
BJ and Doug did another litany about the teaching that Jesus did and how he was challenged by the Jewish leaders of the time about his authority.
Another evening of reflection and fellowship.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings will be at Brown’s Chapel.
