What a great day it was today. So much excitement after a busy week.
First, Ray shared with us that it was special that the roses on the altar are a gift from us to benefit the Methodist Home for Children. But the communion table was a gift from our heavenly father to us. Also, all around the communion table were the kits that were assembled during VBS.
The youth all shared about their trip to Summer Breakaway at Louisburg College. They shared that the theme was Fearlessly Faithful and Rev. Marty McCauley was the speaker. They shared stories of great Living Worship groups, growth groups and dorm groups. We are blessed to have such faithful youth attend these events and we are blessed by the sacrificial giving of our church family to pay for them to go!
The kids from VBS shared some songs as the anthem. They went through the motions that they learned. Check out the Brown’s Chapel UMC Facebook page for a video!
After they sang, Nikki presented the blanket that the kids made this week. It was sports themed fleece reflecting the sports theme VBS. The blanket was given to Preacher Ray, who was to present it to someone who might need it.
It was a great beginning to another busy week. But God has called us to be his children, and we are to be bold in carrying his message to the world around us.
