First night started great. We had a ton of great food (sorry I was so involved eating that I forgot to take any photos!!). In Worship, Ray had mentioned that we had little tea in past meals. So, don’t forget to bring tea. We had a ton of tea tonight.
Then revival was great. The South Fork Friends choir started the evening with great music. Check out the Facebook page for a video.
Rev Doug Johnson then shared Mark 8 about when Jesus asked his disciples who He was. Doug shared that about a time when he was on a mission trip to Jamaica and driving along a road where there was a steep drop-off. He had fallen asleep in the van but another man woke him up, asking if he wasn’t afraid. Doug shared that fearless faith starts with Jesus.
Doug shared that there is a saying, “May you be covered in the dust of your rabbi”, meaning, may you follow your teacher so closely that the dust from the path covers you completely.
He also shared a story about 9/11. He was in Divinity school at Duke and so many people where sharing that the events in NYC changed history. His Divinity school professor said that there was only 1 day that changed the course of history – 33 AD.
Fearless Faith begins with Jesus. Join us tomorrow night to learn more.
