It is time to talk about Christmas presents!
Since everything is different this year – so are Christmas gifts. This year we have TWO great choices to give:
1) Methodist Home for Children
We are helping Methodist Home for Children buy children clothes & toys. Along with everything else this year, the sign-up is virtual via this Google Sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sFTcV1uncFVef3PFUyV51hHBcYZEKy5ejBNd2u7j-L8/edit?usp=sharing. If you cannot get the Google Sheet to work – feel free to call or email me or Marcia King and we can definitely get you signed up! Please make sure when you sponsor a child that you sign your name and email by the child’s name. After you sign up, I will e-mail you the original document with all the information shown on the spreadsheet.
Since everything is a little different this year, we have started with less names than usual – BUT we can definitely get more children to sponsor! If all the names are taken please email/call me with how many children you would like to sponsor and the Methodist Home for Children will send us information for more children in need. All of these children are from Wilmington, where they said their biggest need is.
All the gifts need to be in the fellowship hall (unwrapped and in a gift bag) by Sunday December 6th. Please clearly attach a tag or piece of paper with the child’s name so we can assure that the gifts get to the correct child!
If you cannot go shopping or don’t want to fight the crowds – don’t worry because we will shop for you! You can either (1) make a general donation that we will combine with other donations to buy gifts and clothes or (2) ‘adopt’ a child and we will go get the presents for you! Please let Nikki Brown or Marcia King know (in-person, through e-mail or phone) by Sunday November 21st if you would like us to shop for you.
Also, some sizes are missing from the spreadsheet, we have reached out to Methodist Home for Children and will let you know about those sizes ASAP.
2) Chatham County Salvation Army
Instead of gifts, the Salvation Army is asking for $25 gift cards to give to local Chatham County children in need. We will be accepting gift cards and taking them to the Salvation Army for this great cause this year. More information to come about when these are needed by.
Thanks for your generosity. Merry Early Christmas!!
