Jonah 3:1-5, 10
Jonah is considered a prophet of God. He was called y God, given a message to share with specific people about their lives and a threatening doom. Jonah’s internal battle with his calling was that he wanted the Ninevites to be destroyed so he disobeyed God and tried to find a w ay out of his assignment by running away. When God called a second time, Jonah decides to obey. Jonah went through the city of Nineveh and proclaimed to them that in forty days their city would be destroyed by God. The Ninevites repented and God had compassion on them and did not destroy them. Jonah is an example of how faithfulness to God can produce great good even if we do not want to do the act of faithfulness.
