During this special day on the calendar when most young and older adults spend time sending and getting cards, flowers, heart-shaped candy, and other lovely gifts. Gifts and cards that will be for someone already in our lives or for someone we hope to spend time getting to know better. During the time together we will hopefully listen and talk using loving words and show kindness in our actions. It will be an extra special day for me since it my first Valentines with Lori. I have been given a second time to be married to a woman who God has brought into my life. I know this has just been a few months which hopefully will extend into some years, God willing,. But even with just this short period of time that we have committed to each other in marriage , I know the words of Proverbs 31 to be true and clear as they say “ an excellent wife, who can find? ( I have with God’s handiwork)….For her worth is far above jewels. My heart trusts in her, and I know I will have no lack of gain.” Proverbs 31: 10-11. For me, Lori is that excellent wife. I hope that I can be for her what Paul told the Ephesians in Chapter 5. “ Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” V. 25
For those folks that are dating our courting during this Valentine’s Day, my only advice is to show respect for the one you are with during the time of your relationship…..no matter how it plays out. Being kind and respectful will always be a good start and help all along your journey together. If you are fortunate to be blessed with knowing God wants you both to make the commitment and pledge one’s trough to be faithful till death, then please continue to be kind and respectful all the days together.
I hope you all have a peaceful Lord’s day and take extra time to show the love that Jesus has shown us. A love that comes from your heart to that special one in your life this 2021 Valentine Day. Amen
This is a song we played after the ceremony of our marriage….hope you enjoy it.
