1st Sunday of Lent. The sun was shining and our altar had a touch of spring with tulips. Each year, during Lent, our children have traditionally collected coins from the congregation that are then sent to Society of St. Andrew (SOSA) to help with food distribution. This year, thanks to the pandemic, our children will not be collecting coins during worship. But we are still donating our coins (and paper works also!!). During Children’s time, Ray asked Maddie to extend her hands over the coin bucket during prayer. Ray shared the story of how college kids in CA purchased the recent batch of sweet potatoes and donated them to SOSA here in NC to fight food insecurity. Every penny, literally, helps to fight hunger.
Apologies to those who were attempting to live stream. We had some technical issues that were not resolved until the announcement time of Worship. The recording here has the full Worship time.
