4th Sunday of Lent
We were blessed to have Oliver play the prelude. He played an original composition. We are thankful for the gift God has given to Oliver and his willingness to share it.
The altar had beautiful daffodils, some from Donna’s yard and some from Ray’s. Just a reminder that Spring is around the corner and we are celebrating life.
The scripture was about the Israelites in the wilderness complaining about the food that God was giving them. God sent the serpents which bit some of the people and they died. The people begged Moses to intervene for them and God told him to raise the bronze serpent on a cross and anyone who is bitten and looks at the serpent will live. This story laid the foundation for Jesus dying on the cross for us, people who show more ingratitude than faithfulness. In December, when the Chrismon tree is decorated, see if you can find the cross with the serpent and be thankful.
