Our Service this Sunday: May 3 11:00
Our Service for this Sunday will be led by Pastor Bill with Allen as liturgist (we still need more liturgists, please let Pastor Bill know if you can help). The sermon title is ‘Stumbling Blocks – Discouragement’. We invite everyone to come worship on Sunday at 11:00 am.
Sunday School: May 3
There will not be Sunday School for the Youth, Young Adult, UMYF, or Fellowship Class this Sunday.
The Fellowship Class will not meet on a weekly basis during the spring/summer vacation season. From now until after Labor Day, the Fellowship Class will meet on the second and fourth Sundaysof each month--but will resume weekly classes in the fall.
Mother’s Day Roses: May 3 (Last Sunday to order)
Orders for Mother’s Day roses are due no later than May 3rd. Each rose costs $5 and the proceeds will be donated to the Methodist Retirement Home. The order forms will be available in the church vestibules or attached. Forms and payments can be turned into the collection plate or mailed to Teresa Martin at PO Box 1543, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Payments are now also allowed thru the QR code.
Yoga: Starting May 4, 7:00 – 8 pm (Note time change)
A new 9 week Yoga session, Fruit of the Spirit, will begin on Monday, May 4 from 7 – 8 pm (time change due to longer daylight hours). Galatians 5: 22-23- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. In this session we will contemplate the 9 attributes of a Christian life that are produced by the Holy Spirit reflecting the character of Christ and that are essential for living a life that honors God as we move our bodies in connection with breath. All are welcome regardless of yoga experience or fitness level, modifications offered
Bible Study: May 5
Everyone is invited to the Bible Study meeting on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall. The Bible Study group has finished the book of Acts and will start Romans this week.
Methodist Alignment Committee May 5
The Methodist Alignment Committee (MAC) of Brown's Chapel will meet Tuesday, May 5th at 6:30 pm in the fellowship hall. All are invited. Those who plan to attend the UMC NC Annual Conference in June are encouraged to attend (you do not have to be part of MAC). During the May 5th meeting, we will begin to review conference information (as available) in order to prepare our church representatives. We will also schedule dates and plan how we share
provide feedback regarding items to be voted on at the Annual Conference.
Come have a joyful noise evening and join the choir for practice on Wednesdays at 7:30 pm. All are invited.
First Thursday May 7
The First Thursday for May will be May 7 in the Fellowship Hall at 6:30 pm. Megan and Mitch will be presenting the program. Bring a dish (if you can) and come join us for food, fun and fellowship!
Men’s Club: May 10 Mother’s Day Special Breakfast for All
The Browns Chapel Men’s group would like to show our appreciation for all of the women that continue to help us grow in Christian faith and service. Your example, prayers, and support are so important as we refine our walk with the Lord. Please come and join us as we share breakfast with all women and mothers on Sunday, May 10 at 8:30 am.
Flower and Bulb Exchange: May 10
The Brown's Chapel Wellness Committee will host its annual plant & bulb exchange after worship (near the front entrance) on Mother's Day, May 10th. Please bring extra plants, seeds,or bulbs you wish to share! There will also be a flower planting activity for the children.
Prayer and Healing Service: May 19
The Prayer and Healing Service is scheduled for May 19.
Fifth Sunday Food Drive for CORA: May 31
As we continue through the spring season, you are invited to continue to support CORA in their drive called Blessings of Three Meals a Day! Storage bins will be placed in the Sanctuary Sound Room and the Fellowship Building starting the 5th Sunday in May (May 31) and we will collect thru the month of June. Free Yard Sale: Jun 13
Are items accumulating around your house after the gifts and holidays? The UWiF will be hosting another Free Yard Sale on June 13! Kitchen appliances and dishes, tools for inside and out, old electronics or items that just did not work for you. No Clothes, No Food, No Paint or Chemicals. Please save giveaway items for the yard sale.

You’ve Got a Friend
Breakaway is a week long summer event for junior and senior high school students at Louisburg College June 22 – 26. If your child is wanting to go to Breakaway, please let Sherri know ASAP (hopefully not too late) with the child’s birthday and your email so she can get everyone registered. Registration is paid for by the church!
BC Youth Director position now available for the right Candidate.
Grace and peace be unto you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As we endeavor to address the needs of our ever-expanding youth population. A position for a youth director has been posted on the conference website. The SPRC chair Allen Gubert and myself wish to thank the parents who helped in developing the criteria and expectations for this position. Below is a brief summary of what we are looking for. As potential candidates arise, those same parents will be invited into the selection process, as the share their directives to assist in our final choice.
Job Title: Director of Children and Youth Ministries
Position Summary
The Director of Children and Youth Ministries is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading comprehensive ministry programming for children (nursery through 5th grade), youth (middle school and high school), and their families. This role provides spiritual leadership, volunteer coordination, event planning, and consistent communication to support faith formation, community engagement, and family connection within the church.
*We ask all of you to be in prayer that God through Christ will send us the right person for this very important ministry.
BBQ for Sale:
The BBQ sale was a success but we still have over 100 cartons of pork BBQ in the Fellowship Hall freezer to sell for $10 a container. Money may be: 1) left in the freezer cash box clearly marked BBQ, 2) Put in the offering plate and clearly mark the envelope or memo line on the check with BBQ or 3) Paid for via QR code (on bulletin) designating for BBQ.

BC 2026 Carolina Cross Connection Missions Trip to Blowing Rock: Sept. 17 - 20
Anyone interested in a week-end of construction, service and fellowship with a missions team from church? We’re talking to Carolina Cross Connection about having another missions trip to Blowing Rock – very similar to what we did last year when we had 12 people go and completed 2 ramps for people in need. We have changed the date and are now going the weekend of September 17-20. By changing the date, we should be able to stay and have meals at the Blowing Rock Conference Center.

Care For Kids from Brown’s Chapel
At Brown’s Chapel, we continue to live out love for our neighbors through our partnership with the Care for Kids ministry. Care for Kids is now helping serve “in-need” children across Chatham County. Along with responding to specific requests for individual students, the ministry will now also help stock small school supply closets managed by social workers—so essential items are readily available when a child needs them. Fellowship Hall Improvements
Thanks to a gift from Cliff and Linda Bampton, we have updated our Fellowship Hall with new flooring and will be continuing to update before Homecoming with new appliances and countertops and other cleaning work.
Care and Share Ministry at Seaforth (from Sherri) through May 15:
The Seaforth ECS Students will be maintaining a Care and Share Ministry for the teachers and staff. If you would like to contribute items to the ministry, items may be placed in the Fellowship Hall. The students will stock and maintain the storage area as part of their vocational training and experience. This project will be an opportunity for the ECS students to build independence, gain responsibility and compassion through service.We Accept Donations Of:
